One of the main abilities of the child, which underlies both mental development and other lines of development, is the ability to build more and more complex structures of its own external activity, and then internal, mental activity. The development of this ability largely determines the overall mental activity.

Computer games contribute to the formation of the ability of goal formation, which ensures the understanding of intellectual tasks, their acceptance by the child, which is a necessary condition for the development of children's mental activity. It is a clear idea of ​​the final result, which should be obtained in the course of the solution, that allows the child to purposefully analyze the conditions of the problem. The use of computer games stimulates the formation of such skills.

Various forms of children's creative experimentation contribute to the development of children's curiosity, the inquisitiveness of their mind, and form intellectual abilities.

One of the important lines in the mental development of a preschool child is the gradual transition from more elementary forms of thinking to more complex ones. Thus, the development of a visual-effective form of thinking creates the basis for the transition to visual-figurative thinking, which, in turn, is a necessary step in the development of logical thinking. Great opportunities in this regard are revealed when children work with a computer. In the process of actions with objects and phenomena depicted on the screen, children form flexible, mobile ideas and images that serve as the basis for the transition from visual-active to visual-figurative thinking.

This program is aimed at the adoption by the child of a new type of activity as a habitual one, and is built on the basis of the latest developments in the field of computer developing and teaching technologies of domestic and foreign manufacturers, taking into account the mental characteristics of preschool children, and is designed for children 5-7 years old. (Classes are held in senior and preparatory groups).

The program is designed for 2 years: from simple to more complex, from the constant control of the teacher to independent decisions, from the development of skills to creative tasks.

Modern computer games for children used in the classroom have an easy-to-understand interface, which allows the child to feel self-confidence, puts him in a situation of success, which is especially important for the development of a full-fledged personality. Most of the tasks have several levels of difficulty, which makes it possible for the child to learn how to evaluate their strengths and get positive results for everyone according to their individual program.

Each lesson includes several types of activities that replace each other: a conversation or a frontal game, a computer game, individual game tasks or didactic games, design.

It is important to note that sanitary and epidemiological standards must be strictly observed in the classroom: requirements for technology, lighting, duration of classes; preventive exercises for the eyes and physical education are carried out.

When building the program, the theoretical part of the developments of the Association "Computer and Childhood" was used.

The program was also developed taking into account the educational program for preschoolers "Origins", in close cooperation with a psychologist, speech therapist and group educators.
