Casting nets: design and application. The Casting Network Casting Techniques of All Kinds Why the Casting Network Is Not Fully Exposed

Casting networks are no longer exotic. It's like a traditional Russian drink - Brazilian coffee. We just don’t know how to brew… It seems that everything is clear and simple, but only in the wrong hands. In grains, ground or instant, which one to choose?

Now casting networks are becoming more and more popular, and beginners have a question - how to choose tackle for themselves and not throw (not small) money down the drain?

My opinion on this matter.

By the size of the net (by radius), I would divide these gear into three groups:

Radius 1 - 1.5 m This is gear for kids. A trifle for live bait, frogs, cats, to drive chickens, to catch crayfish, where they are found. Cancer does not scatter like fish and catches are good. Large fish will still come across, but you should not rely on it much.

At these radii, well, very well, gear with a small ring behaves. Easily untangled, the easiest to cast, you can throw far from one clearing in different directions, pleasure, excitement, even for guys, even for girls.

When choosing gear with a small ring, so that fishing is a pleasure, you just need to remember - what is the height, what is the radius.
I advise you to choose a smaller cell size - 12-20 mm, all the same for a trifle.
Kapron does not take much water here, you can not be afraid of weighting tackle.
A dirty pond is a durable capron, a clean one is a light fishing line.
Large rings on small radii are only needed when you want to fish seated.

Radius 1.8 - 2 m- This is gear for beginners. There is already enough fishing area and there will be good catches in the baited place. Do not scatter the bait on all sides, but rather throw it in the net in one place, then the fish will concentrate at one point and a radius of 1.8 meters or a kopeck piece is already enough to grab the bait along with all the fish. For beginners, tackle with a large ring is preferable - set the centrifugal force and the tackle will fly apart.

The fish hears the lateral line and when the weights fall from all sides it becomes disoriented, and the ring has zero buoyancy and sinks after the weights. So do not be afraid that the rings scare away the fish. And the one that left is not yours.
The mesh size is up to you, if you need a live bait - we take a smaller cell of 12 - 20 mm, if not needed, then a larger cell - 28 mm. Everyone understands that the larger the mesh, the faster it sinks.
At radii of 1.8 - 2 m with a small mesh, wetting of nylon is already beginning to be felt.
Weight increases, hands begin to get tired, but fatigue is still pleasant, healthy.

Radii 2.4 m or more- this is more serious gear and you need to treat them with respect. “I bought a tackle and already with a fish” - it won’t work, you can’t take a fish out of the pond without difficulty. The tackle itself will not fly and will not unwind. To fly, then it will fly, but it will be - how is it ... "fly, fly, fuck it ..."

Since it is quite difficult to master the technique of casting a classic casting net on your own, then when mastering the casting of tackle with a large ring, at least the mechanics of actions are clear - you need to set the centrifugal force. Also, a large ring allows you to throw tackle while sitting, or going deep into the water.

On the our YouTube channel(white boat, aluminum ring), I think, I showed and explained in an accessible way - how to spin the tackle. I will try to show in the next video, maybe even more understandable. And in words there are only two words - for-give-those vra-sche-nie !!! Twist with the whole body and also twist with the hand that is in the center of the ring.

With an increase in the radius, the nylon thread behaves more and more impudently, and gets wet more and more. Here you need to think about it - choose a larger cell or take a fishing line.
And here is the question - capron or fishing line? The fish sees the capron and does not see the line ...?
Everyone will agree with me that initially the fish sees the fisherman!

In general, the choice of tackle is very simple:

1. I played with biceps, bulged my eyes - I want three, no less !!!
2. He groaned, rubbed his lower back ... - and the kopeck piece is nothing, and why do I need so many fish ???

The casting net refers to small fishing tackle that is considered environmentally friendly and allowed by the laws of the country. When fishing with the help of such equipment, you need to take into account the depth of casting.

This net is perfect for carp fishing. Since this fish can climb into shallow water in search of food, where it will be very clearly visible. If you intend to fish in the dark, it is best to additionally use a high power flashlight. Otherwise, there will be no result.

It is extremely important to practice casting the casting net before the trip. And as soon as you notice where your catch is heading, be sure to cast your tackle. In this case, it is necessary that your body and head are immobilized. Everything is advised to do it exclusively with the help of hands. This is quite enough. Any awkward movement and the fish will be in the dark, and you definitely won’t catch it.

Generally speaking, the casting network is very practical, efficient and convenient to use. The main thing is to learn how to use it.

What is a casting network?

The casting net, like any fishing equipment, has its own scope. But there is no big secret in this matter. It is important to consider only the fish you decide to hunt.

Previously, such networks were widely used in the territory of the Caucasian and Asian countries. Whereas today Europe and even Russia have been added to their number. We have entire clubs that bring together lovers of casting fishing.

And if you have found a high-quality net and learned how to cast it, then the trick is in the bag. But it is also important to find a good place for fishing so that people do not interfere, and various law enforcement agencies. Since the latter consider the two-meter net to be poaching. Although you should not worry, there are enough such hot spots in the vastness of our country.

The casting network consists of the following elements:

With the help of a casting net, you can, if desired, catch shrimp at great depths. But at the same time, it is necessary to choose the dimensions of the cells correctly.

There are fishermen who, on the move of a motor boat, cast the net. In this case, it is recommended that the speed be as low as possible. After casting, you need to stretch the tackle a couple of meters and check it. There is nothing difficult in this. Moreover, in this way, you will not catch even garbage and vegetation from the surface of the bottom of the reservoir.

What you need to know about fishing with a casting net?

The casting net casting technique will be discussed below. But first of all, I would like to note that it is important to understand how to use it in general. To do this, one unwritten fishing rule will come in handy: the depth when the radius of the net is much smaller is considered optimal for fishing.

Before casting the net, it is recommended to check the surface of the bottom of the reservoir for the presence of snags, branches and other debris. To do this, you can use the standard cat. It will perfectly cope with this task and protect you from breaks on the network.

If you have an echo sounder, it can be very useful to you. Because in this case you can find a hot spot full of fish. Plus, you should not stop where there are fishermen with spinning rods. This will only lead to quarrels, and maybe even worse. And we are for peaceful fishing.

If you decide to hunt perch, then you need to make a splash cast. Not to notice the fight of this predator is unrealistic. It is important not to miss the right moment. If the water is clear, then it is better to see where the fish is and cast nets directly into this place.

Additional use of complementary foods will allow you to catch in the autumn and medium-sized bleak. In this case, the grid is selected with a cell size in the region of 12-16 mm, but no more. The advantage of this method of fishing is that you do not fish along the bottom, but in the water column. And if you are sure that the predator is caught, immediately after casting, you can safely get the tackle.

Important! The casting net is a unique fishing tackle with which you can go not only to catch fish, but also crustaceans.

That's just, they should be looked for not in the upper layers of the water, but at the bottom. Most often, crayfish come across in the network quite by accident. A little complementary food, and medium-sized crayfish and shrimp can become your trophy. That's just the size of the cells should be appropriate.

Casting technique

To master the technique of casting a casting net, you are advised to stand on the bank. In this case, it is worth practicing immediately on a small lawn or even an ordinary lawn. Before taking the net to work, it must be cleaned of various plants and other debris that may have remained from previous fishing trips.

Important! The loop at the end of the cord before the casting itself overlaps on the left hand.

After all, during training casts, everything turns out that way. But in practice, when your hands are wet and slippery, you can throw away not only the net itself, but also the cord with it. Moreover, the fastening of the loop can also be done by the belt on the belt.

The casting technique described above is considered the most popular. But there are also other ways. After all, every fisherman, over time, adjusts the casting for himself. For example, some do not consider it necessary to collect traction rings in their hand. They just lay them neatly under their feet. But in this case, you should pay attention to the fact that the surface on which the casting network is laid out must be free of debris and branches.

casting network- First experience. How to choose not to be disappointed with fishing?

How often do we hear and see how the so-called casting networks soar up and, opening up in the air, fall with lightning speed into the water, then picking up everything that they managed to catch within the range of the parachute net. Not for nothing is it called a network - snack or with a parachute net. But the ease with which the casting net is thrown in Asia will not be so easy for a newcomer who decides to try himself as a Texas cowboy, briskly brandishing a cord, as if taming a wild mustang. Let's figure out what you need to know about the casting network and how to choose the right one.

Casting nets (parachute) are divided into Spanish and American. The Spanish type parachute net is a net that looks like a bag. It is equipped with weights along the lower cut (around the circumference of the fishing tackle), and on top - a cord with a carabiner and a cuff for ease of casting. The fishing bag net has sides, small protruding double edges that rise with the net when it is removed from the water to ensure the safety of the catch. For a beginner, working with a Spanish casting net will be much easier and more convenient, because a Spanish casting net flies through the air on its own, it does not need to provide full disclosure by sorting out lines, that is, pull-up lines, as in the American type of casting net. Working with a Spaniard is easier and more enjoyable, you can get real pleasure from fishing, especially casting a parachute net far from the coast. Lead weights quickly sink the net to the bottom, and you just have to pull the fishing tackle by the rope that is attached to your arm with a cuff. Throwing the Spanish flute is best done "from oneself and up", so it is better to practice this movement with your hand in advance.

American type casting network it is better to choose with a small clamping ring. By choosing this net, you will actually buy a Spanish net, but at the same time it will have slings that will allow you to tighten the bag of the cap net into even pockets and raise it without losing your catch. In contrast to the casting net of the Spanish type, which often turns over and loses a particularly large and heavy catch when the net is skewed and the center of gravity is transferred to the edges of the sides when raised.

The casting net of the American type is always equipped with thick lines-slings that penetrate the diameter of the net and freely collect the net from weights to the cord into small uniform bags that are tightened simultaneously when lifting the tackle with the catch. The disadvantage of such a net is the inevitable process of entanglement of the lines with each other or with lead weights of the lower cut of the net. If the latter can be avoided - now there are a huge number of models of capes sold with sewn lead weights to reduce hooks, then it is impossible to avoid twisting the mesh with lines, unless you have experience.

Casting Network American is a more effective fishing tackle - its catch is always higher and better, but it is more difficult to throw it. Recently, casting Americans with a small ring and weights closed in the cord have been invented. Perhaps today it is the most acceptable net for a beginner, it also provides the closing of the entire circumference of the net into bags with slings, and is easily tightened with slings to the clamping ring.

The nets of parachutes with traditional lightweight metal rings with a diameter of 30 and 40 cm, which are used by the inhabitants of Southeast Asia themselves, are easier to open, they guarantee the full opening of the net in the air and uniform simultaneous immersion of the gear over the entire area covered by the net. But in order to start working with a mesh with a ring, you should learn how to unwind it. You need to unwind the casting network of an American from yourself, having previously sorted it out on slings and distributed it evenly on the ground. Then the mesh is drawn into the hand and unwinds like a throwing disc, throwing it as far and evenly as possible into the water. But not everything is as sad as it seems, because we want to enjoy the process of fishing with a net, and we will do it!

Recently, American-style casting nets with a large Frisbee ring have gone on sale. This is a plastic ring that has the shape of a circle with parallel arcuate stripes that converge to the center of the lower Frisbee ring. These arcs allow you to pick up and catch air currents in the process of casting fishing tackle as if you were throwing an ordinary flying saucer to a dog. It is not for nothing that these networks quickly got the name " Flying saucer". These models have 3 rings: a large one for casting and directing the airflow during flight, a middle one for lines and collecting them, and the last - the smallest one - is a pressure ring with which you press the pre-expanded net with lines to the bottom ring of the frisbee and with the help of a cord with a cuff, put on your hand, you throw the net away from you into the water without unwinding the body, as in all other models of American casting nets. Casting net "Flying saucer" is convenient to cast from a boat, from the shore, from the pier .

Don't think that a larger net diameter will give you more fun and a bigger catch. No, on the contrary, nets with a large diameter, that is, more than 3 meters of opening are harder to cast, and they have a higher percentage of non-opening of the full parachute of the net. If the parachute of the net does not open, there will be no catch.

The question is often asked: what is the best network to choose from? From fishing line or from kapron?

From fishing line - the casting net is lighter, easier to cast and does not require drying after use. But the fishing line mesh is less durable, especially at the knots, and breaks faster.

The mesh made of kapron is more durable, can withstand a larger catch, it is recommended even for sea fishing with sea water, but when wet it becomes heavier and you do not leave it for a long time. After use, it is necessary to dry the network.

The choice is yours, the main thing is the pleasure of fishing, which you will undoubtedly experience when using a casting net. We wish you success!

Casting fishing net - the original screening type casting net, used for fishing.

How to use it?

The principle of fishing with the help of such a tool is that the fish gets entangled in the net thrown into the water. How to use it correctly? First, the angler winds the net around his hand. Further, with a special throw, he throws it over the surface of the river. The correct movement should be learned in advance. Having straightened out in the air, the fishing net is immersed in the water, and covers a certain part of it - it depends on the size of the tackle. When the necessary part of the nets reaches the bottom, they are drawn to the shore, along with the entangled fish. The water that was at the place where the net fell naturally passes through the cape. Therefore, the catcher pulls out only the fishing tackle and the catch itself ashore.

The effectiveness of the casting network

It should be noted that the net - one of the most common gear for fishing. This inventory has a number of advantages. Firstly, when using nets, the catch is greater than when fishing with a fishing rod. Yes, the process is faster. Secondly, when fishing with a rod, you need to take food or other bait, which is not required by nets. And the main advantage of tents is that the fish is not damaged by a hook or other additional gear. Thanks to this, it remains alive and whole, which means it will not deteriorate soon. So we can say with confidence that fishing with a casting net is the most effective today.

But you should be very careful when using such gear. It is extremely important to hold the traction rope firmly in your hand or fasten it to your belt. If he slips into the water, the nets can hardly be reached. And such a situation will not only leave you without gear, but will also cause problems for many plants and animals of the river, and can also bring difficulties to boats passing by.

Disadvantage of the casting network

The only disadvantage of such nets is their cost. Since the nets are more effective in fishing detail and bring a better catch, the rod has faded into the background. It is now used by fishing enthusiasts, for whom it is not the catch that matters, but the impressions received. For real professionals who are interested in income, nets are needed. Therefore, the demand for them is growing and the price, respectively, too.

Buying cheap gear is not worth it. Especially if you use them more than once. After all, you will have to throw them into the water often. Poor quality equipment can only spoil the whole fishing. Good networks at a low price can hardly be found in today's market. Therefore, many decide to make a casting network with their own hands.

Types of casting networks

Before you start knitting a casting net with your own hands, you need to decide what kind of gear you want to make. All fishing capes are circles of woven fabric, to the edges of which special weights are sewn. But there are different types of casting nets for fishing. The main ones are American and Spanish.

American

This is a casting network with a ring. It consists of many parts of a triangular woven fabric. They are stitched in such a way that in the end the mesh has the shape of a dome. The bottom of the circumference is sheathed with a special shipped cord, from which slings diverge along the entire border of the product. These are special ropes that are part of the fishing net. And they are always located on the inside of the gear. At the same time, they pass from the bottom of the network to its top. At the top of the system, the slings are sewn into a kind of ring, around which bags are collected.

Operating principle

Since the American network has a ring, it is much more convenient to use it. It casts with greater clarity and brings the appropriate catch. How to use it correctly?

Experienced fishermen advise shaking nets before casting. From this action, stale nets straighten out, which will further improve fishing.

To begin with, you should wind the traction cord around your left hand with rings. Next, shake the nets by holding them by the sleeve. Check that there are no interfering loops or knots anywhere.

Also transfer the upper part of the net to the left hand, continuing to hold the cord with it. Next, you need to unwind the cargo rope. To do this, take it in both hands and place them as wide as possible to stretch it as much as possible. If done correctly, the nets look deployed and ready to be thrown.

Make a couple of swinging movements, then aim and throw the net into the water.

During the throw, it fully opens above the surface of the reservoir, and with the help of attached weights, it quickly sinks to the bottom. When you pull it back, the tackle will roll up into a bag, inside of which all the prey remains. American - standard fishing casting net.

Spaniard

A cap net of this type has many similarities with an American. Therefore, it has a similar design and is also very popular with anglers. But do not confuse these two types of networks. Their main difference is that in the Spanish nets, the central cord is sewn to the center of the tackle, and not to their bottom. Also, this type of fishing tackle does not have its own ring on top. Therefore, the catch is pulled not by the bushing or ring, but by a special rope. The Spaniard has cargo suspensions, but they do not collect it in the water in the form of a bag, but are used only for better immersion of the awning in the water. When the fisherman pulls the nets ashore, peculiar pockets form near their central part, which pull the fish entangled in them.

The principle of operation of Spanish networks

Since the Spanish cape and the American parachute differ in their structure, the casting techniques and the principles of their operation have certain differences.

Wrap a thick traction cord around your left hand. Take the top third of the nets in the other and stretch them as wide as possible. Then, throw your gear over the eyed area of water. At the same time, it is not advised to keep your body immobile. Casting a casting net requires a strong swing, and experienced anglers recommend turning your body 180 degrees while casting. Make sure that the nets fly with the correct trajectory - after the highest point of their flight, they should descend to the surface of the water without a sharp fall. A gradual fall will ensure the correct opening of the awning.

Plunging into the water, the tackle entangles the fish and detains it in pockets near the center. After they have enough catch, you can pull the nets ashore. To do this, you must use a traction cord.

Necessary materials for weaving nets

In order to make your own fishing nets, special materials are needed. To knit a fishing net with your own hands, you need to purchase a high-quality net cloth. It is better to buy it in a store than to weave it yourself, since the design of this material is very complex. It is made from strips of various widths and lengths. Although connoisseurs with experience in catching fish can try to weave the canvas on their own. They know exactly how to make a casting network with their own hands.

It is important to decide in advance on the size of future gear in order to buy the required amount of material. As a rule, the circumference is considered the size of the network, and the diameter is equal to the width of the acquired canvas multiplied by two. For the correct calculation of the size, use the formula "2aP \u003d c". Here a is the width of the canvas, P is a number equal to 3.14 and c is the size of the resulting mesh.

The length of the material may correspond to its width, so in this case no calculations are required.

The weight cord must be greater than 4mm in thickness. Its length can reach up to five meters. Both parameters are very important. A suitable length guarantees good throws, and if the rope is thick and strong enough, it will be easy to hold and will not cut your hands while hauling the line ashore.

How to make a casting network with your own hands?

Now you can start collecting networks. The canvas must be cut into equal triangles, which are then sewn together in the shape of a circle. Further, a braided rope is fixed along its entire length. Sinkers are attached to it at a distance of 10 cm from each other. The best option would be lead bars.

To do this correctly, it will not be superfluous to practice with professionals demonstrating to beginners how to make a casting network.

The central ring is sewn at a distance of one third of the network from the top. Through it, along the entire perimeter of the awnings, slings will descend - an ordinary fishing line is used for their manufacture. One end of it will be tied to a casting rope, and the other to a braided cord. Slings are tied with a thin fishing line - its thickness should not exceed 0.4 mm.

In order to properly weave a fishing net with your own hands, it does not hurt to turn to experienced anglers who know how to knit a casting net. This will save time and effort.

casting network. Blueprints

In order to fully understand the design of the nets, it is better to study the drawings and their sketches. This will help you not to miss the slightest detail when making your own fishing cape.

In order to do everything right, it will not be superfluous to watch tutorial videos showing beginners how to make a casting network.

Some fishermen do not use a casting net because they think that fishing in this way is considered poaching.

But this is far from true. Yes, in some regions this method is prohibited by law, but in most cases fishing with a casting net is allowed if you use it with a diameter of no more than two meters.

For fishing in this way, you need to pay a license to the fishery, and a quota for fishing is not needed. It is best to treat such fishing as a sport or a favorite hobby that you have to pay for. In order not to break the law, you can catch on paid ponds, especially if, after catching, the prey is released back into the water.

The net must be assembled in a hand so that it can easily turn around in flight. Then it is necessary to perform a horizontal throw, so that at the same time she could cover the section of water corresponding to the diameter of the net.

The parachute is pulled out by the cord only after its laden part sinks to the bottom. You can also fish with a casting net in the water column, for this it is enough not to wait until it touches the bottom, but in this case it is necessary to make a number of changes in its design.

If you decide to go fishing with a casting net, it is better to avoid areas with a rough bottom, abundant vegetation, fast currents and boulders. You should also not look closely at the "brows", the so-called steep underwater slopes, this area will also not allow you to capture the fish that live in those parts.

Having decided to fish with a casting net from the shore, it is recommended not to choose places with bushes, trees, as well as with annual vegetation. The ideal would be a flat and clean space of the reservoir for about a couple of meters.

Moreover, you should not look for the meaning of fishing from cliffs, bridges and embankments that rise above the water by more than 2 meters. Even correctly cast sinkers of the casting net from this distance will cause the sinkers to converge, deforming the net from an even circle into an elongated cone. It is best to net in well-known areas to avoid hooks or other net damage.

You can fish with a casting net under various conditions and in various water bodies. It is effective for catching various types of fish, whether it is a live bait or a large predatory fish.

It is best to blindly catch large fish with a casting net. You should not look for luck in catching fish in shallow water, remember, if you see a fish, then it sees you.

Having completed even the most accurate cast, the fish will not let itself be caught, it will simply recoil to the side. In the spring, it is recommended to fish in front of any natural obstacle, the main thing is that the bottom is flat and the depth is approximately 1.5 meters.

Casts should be carried out in the same way as with spinning. First of all, it is necessary to “probe” the areas located close to the fisherman, then the areas of medium distance, and, last of all, the most distant ones.

Don't worry, using a casting net, so you won't be able to scare away the fish, it can only roll back a little lower, the main thing is to make the right casts. Therefore, initially the territory located from the coast is fished and go downstream.

In the spring, it is recommended to use the net for fishing during the daytime, but towards the end of summer, fishing at dusk and at night is considered effective. Do not forget that in the summer aquatic vegetation in the reservoir appears in large quantities, which significantly reduces the number of places that can be used for blind fishing.

In this case, you can switch to hunting for single specimens of fish.

This type of fish is best caught by choosing the shallowest parts of the reservoir in which there is a shallow current and a muddy bottom. The main sign of the presence of fish in this area is the presence of bubbles rising from the bottom of disturbed fish. A boat for catching tench is not required. The reason is that the tench mostly prefers close to the coastline.

Pike are best caught from a boat. On hot summer days, she prefers to hunt in vegetated channels and small bays. The most effective pike fishing is at the time of spawning, it is then that she forgets about caution and can let the fisherman closer.

The only thing that can interfere is vegetation, on which hunters usually spawn. The reason is that the net, once it hits the vegetation, may not close completely, releasing the prey into the wild.

Casting Net Casting Technique

Casting tackle is made in the form of a circle from a net fabric, along the edges of which a cord with weights sewn on is launched.

In order for the skein with the net to straighten out during the throw, a special braided cord, at least 5 mm thick, is attached to the middle of the web.

For fishing, they take small sizes to make it more convenient to throw. Use for fishing different diameters, from 1.5 meters and more.

Some fishermen can just fish with huge nets, but this comes with experience.

Before you start fishing, be sure to check the depth of the reservoir. You need to consider what territory to capture, and what kind of prey you want to catch. This is necessary in order to calculate the size of the cells.

It is very effective to catch carp with a casting net, because the fish prefers to live in shallow places. You need to take a flashlight with you, because throwing blindly is just a waste of time and effort. The lantern must be powerful in order to illuminate the desired area.

In general, the principle of fishing at first glance is very simple.

All matter is collected in the hand, thrown in a certain way, opened in flight, and covers the necessary section of the reservoir along with prey. After it sinks completely to the bottom, the fisherman pulls on the cord near the base, the net shrinks and the prey falls into the trap. But it is very difficult to correctly calculate the strength of the throw and execute it so that it unfolds on time.

First, you need to collect the traction cord in rings in your left hand. Then, with your free outstretched hand, you need to grab and shake the net so that it straightens and stretches well.

It is also important to ensure that the weight cord does not form a loop anywhere. Further, the right hand is intercepted and the tackle is collected in rings in the left hand.

Take the cargo cord at two points with your left and right hands and stretch the network to the maximum possible distance.

Now you can start casting by performing two or three swinging movements for this, or one wide swing, while trying to turn the body by 1800. When casting, it is important to take into account the plane of the net movement.

Turning around, it should fly along the most gentle trajectory and touch the water, while completely turning around. The successful execution of the throw directly depends on the correct proportion of the force required for the throw.

Before you start casting, it is important to wrap the loop not on the left hand, but on the waist belt in order to prevent it from slipping during the cast.

Casting or cap net is one of the most spectacular and beautiful ways of catching. The fisherman has only to wave, and the coil of rope unwinds into a circle of netting that covers the surface of the water. And after a few minutes you can pull out just an amazing catch.

The structure of the American type casting network

To have an idea about the casting network, let's take a closer look at the structure of the American type network, which consists of:

  • Setepolono is made of excellent quality monofilament. To give the fishing line strength and softness, it is treated with a special coating. In order for the network to be able to open to the maximum width in production, it is stretched;
  • A cargo cord which consists of two braided polyethylene cords of smaller diameter twisted together, thereby providing increased wear resistance and strength. The connection of sinkers occurs at the moment of pulling the catch ashore, thereby forming a bag in which the entire catch is located;
  • Additional lacing with the help of which provide a strong connection of the cargo cord with the goods. By twisting the cord three times, it allows you to secure the casting net from below;
  • Sinkers weighing 26 grams are made of lead;
  • The carabiner performs a protective function, preventing the cord from twisting;
  • A horn designed for more convenient casting of the net. Made of composite material, it, being inside the network, makes it easy to assemble it. Usually the horn is connected to the network using high quality glue;
  • Line veins designed for casting with a lower weight line. The veins are made of thick monofilament fishing line. While pulling the casting net, they tighten the net, thereby forming a bag with a closed mouth. The fish is trapped and can't get out. Thanks to the veins of thick monofilament fishing line, the entire net receives additional strength;
  • The casting line is made of polyethylene, a material that has increased buoyancy while not absorbing water. Due to the large margin of length, it allows you to use the net for fishing at great depths, as well as make casts from the pier, shore, boat;
  • Loop located at the end of the casting line. The angler during the casting of the net fixes it on the wrist. The loop has a dense weave.

At the moment, there are two large groups of casting networks: Spanish and American. For casting, nets from the American group are more convenient, they are easy to make yourself, and they are known for their effectiveness.

The nets of the Spanish group have one small advantage, they can be used to catch parts of a reservoir with inconvenient terrain, as well as driftwood, stones, etc.

Those wishing to make an American-style casting network must adhere to several rules:

  • Slings or veins should be made of fishing line, while their thickness should be more than 1 mm, and the length should slightly exceed the radius of the net. The veins need to be attached to the cargo cord quite often. If the plastic sleeve has not one, but several holes, then veins are passed through each, which lead to the corresponding edge of the net, while it is important to prevent crossing. It is also desirable not to leave burrs, sharp edges and other irregularities on the edges of the holes;
  • Sinkers should be evenly placed on the weight cord, the minimum distance between the centers of which should not exceed 12 cm. Depending on the dimensions of the net, the weight of the sinkers is selected, it should not be less than 20 and more than 35 grams. The most optimal are sinkers in the form of a strongly elongated cylinder, it is highly not recommended to use spherical sinkers. If it is possible to cast the weights yourself, but it is important to carefully process each weight and eliminate any bumps and burrs;
  • Particular attention should be paid to the formation of the knot of the collecting vein. Ideally, it should be neat, compact and without lines sticking out in all directions.

But, no matter how simple the principle of operation of such gear may seem, in order for the casting net to turn out to be of sufficient quality and bring you a catch, you will need to stock up on some materials:

  • First you need to find the mesh. There are two ways to mine it.
  • You can make your own canvas. This is a very difficult task that will require a lot of effort and time, but it is quite doable. If you are engaged in weaving the canvas in your free time, then you can spend several months.
  • You can buy canvas. Most often it is sold in strips with different widths. Size is one of the main indicators when choosing a canvas.
  • Before you start weaving a network, you need to clearly understand what size of canvas you need. Since the tackle has a rounded shape, its width will be related to the circumference. As for the diameter, it often corresponds to the width of the canvas multiplied by two. The formula for the circumference of a circle is known to everyone from school.
  • It is necessary to choose the size of the canvas based on the formula 2 * 3.14 * Width of the strip of the canvas. As a result, you will get a number corresponding to the length of the canvas, which will need to be taken.
  • A braided cord is also an integral part of the design. It is better to take a rope with a diameter of about 4 mm. It will act as a cargo cord. The rope will be fixed along the perimeter of the entire network. The length of this rope is calculated by the same formula and it is equal to the circumference. Sinkers will be fixed to this rope.
  • Throw braided rope is also a mandatory component. The diameter of such a rope does not exceed 8 millimeters. The length of such a cord must be taken at about 7 meters. But, often fishermen manage with a rope about 4 meters long. The more experience the fisherman has, the longer the rope must be taken. The longer the rope, the greater the casting distance and the catch will be, respectively. But you do not need to choose thin ropes, as when casting, you can cut your hands.
  • You also need to stock up on a set of sinkers. The weight of one load is from 20 to 30 grams. But the number of such weights will be large, since they must be placed along the entire length of the cargo cord. The distance between the loads is taken about 10 centimeters. On average, in order for the casting network to have sufficient weight with your own hands, you will have to use about 250 sinkers.
  • You will also need to take about 150 meters of thick fishing line. As a rule, a fishing line with a diameter of about 1 millimeter is used. This fishing line will be required for the manufacture of slings. The slings are brought out through a special ring at the edge of the net and, on the other hand, are fixed on the cargo cord.
  • It is also necessary to find the central ring. This ring serves as a passage for the lines, after which they are tied to the casting line. You can also make such a device yourself: this will require a regular plastic cartridge from an electric lamp.
  • To fix the lines on the throwing cord, you can not do without a special device DRAGON HEAD. Such a device will be required to attach the slings to the purchased ring. If you make the ring yourself, then you just need to tie the slings into a bundle and fill it with epoxy glue.
  • You will also need to stock up on 100 meters of lavsan threads. With their help, we will tie the net to the cargo cord. In the absence of threads, a thin fishing line will do.
  • You will need some fishing line with a diameter of 0.4 mm. It needs a little, since with the help of such a fishing line we will tie the sectors of the canvas.

Network design

The casting network has the following structure:

  • Network canvas in the form of a circle of the correct diameter;
  • A cord located along the edge of the canvas and equipped with small, often planted lead sinkers;
  • Sufficiently thick braided center cord;
  • The loop.

Each group of casting nets has slight deviations from the standard type of construction. For example, in American-style nets, the other end of the central cord can be attached to slings stretched to the cargo cord, and in Spanish-type nets to the center.

In American-style nets, the central cord pulls the cargo cord to the center with the help of veins, thereby giving the net the shape of a bag with a tightly closed neck. Spanish nets, on the contrary, when pulled out, form pockets, due to their own gravity and the location of the central cord, in which the entire catch is located.

American networks in the very center are equipped with a small round hole in the network web, a fluoroplastic or plastic sleeve is attached to the edge of the hole. The sleeve also has one or more holes designed for sliding sling-veins, the number of holes depends on the dimensions of the network.

The cells of the network fabric should be small in size and consist of twisted or monofilament.

Learning to Throw the Casting Net

Before you try to throw tackle into the water, you need to practice on the shore or at home on the lawn. The network must be clean, without algae or mud, otherwise it may interfere with the process.

  • The traction cord is taken in the left hand and collected in rings. With the other hand, you need to take and shake the net well so that it straightens and unfolds.
  • It is necessary to ensure that the cord with sinkers does not form loops.
  • After checking, the net is intercepted with the right hand and collected into rings in the left hand. In this case, the cargo cord must be grabbed at two points, and manually deploy it to the maximum.
  • After that, you can already try to make casts. It can be thrown with one wide swing, or with several swinging movements.
  • During the throw, the body must be turned 180 degrees.
  • The throw must be performed in such a way that the net flies along a more gentle trajectory, and before sinking into the water it can fully turn around.
  • The correctness of the throw depends on the force invested in the movement.
  • Before throwing the net, it is best not to hold the loop in your hands, but to tie it on your belt. So it won't slip out.

Casting net fishing

Fishing with a casting net is conditionally divided into several categories that are by no means mutually exclusive:

  1. Live catching.
  2. Catching small schooling fish is like fishing.
  3. Hunting for big fish.

Catching fish with a casting net is an art. The tackle actually resembles a parachute. And in order for it to open, it must first be laid well.

Therefore, you must first check the cape for the absence of extraneous inclusions. There should be no residue of algae, leaves or fish scales.

If the network is clean, you can start "laying". First, the tackle is placed in a clean bucket, starting from the edge to which the sinkers are attached.

The network is assembled into a single, even bundle and placed in a bucket, preferably in rings. Then the main cord is laid.

When the tackle is placed in the bucket, the preparation for the throw begins. The skidding loop of the main cord is put on the left hand.

He himself is recruited into his hand (into a fist) with rings to the place where the network begins. The cape itself is folded into one ring.

Do not pull hard on the center cable. Otherwise, the lines will get mixed up with the nets.

The lower edge with sinkers is conditionally divided into two bundles. The edge of one is taken in the left hand, and the edge of the other in the right. With a semicircular wave, the net is thrown so that, turning around in the air, it covers as large an area as possible. When the tackle goes completely under water, a jerk is made for the cord. The straps tighten the edges, turning the dome into a tightened bag with a catch.

Regarding the choice of the most optimal network size for beginners, unfortunately, there is no consensus. Some people suggest trying to start with a smaller diameter net that makes casting easier.

The rest are advised to immediately train on professional networks, since, having mastered a three-foot network, it is rather difficult to switch to a network of a larger diameter after. Also, the choice of the size of the net directly depends on the physical characteristics of the angler, the higher the height and the longer the arms, the easier it is for him to work with a large net.

Catching small fish with a casting net is quite easy and simple. The main thing in this business is the right time and place to fish.

Having looked out for the habitat of small flocks of perch or roach, you can safely proceed to casting the net. Due to the presence of a casting net, no boat or wading is required to get live bait.

Having carried out just one successful cast, you can send more than a dozen small fish into the bucket. And now you can start catching larger specimens of fish.

Taking into account the fact that fishing with a casting net, as a rule, involves fishing at shallow depths and in the fisherman’s visibility zone for the fish, who is also forced to make sharp sweeping movements when casting the net, it naturally suggests itself that the fish, in any In this case, a large and cautious fisherman sees and is frightened in clear water.

This means that the spring and the flood period with its muddy water are a lot of advantages for this type of fishing.

Firstly, it is muddy water from melt waters - it’s not for nothing that there is an old Russian expression “to fish in troubled waters” meaning ease of access to something using the situation. Here, due to poor visibility in the water, we have the advantage of being able to approach the fish very close without frightening them.

Discussion article.

What prompted me to write this article is that sometimes when visiting various fishing forums, I come across the fact that part of their audience with spray at the mouth is trying to “hit” me, they say, “poacher”, “grabber”, “immoral type”, “destroyer of everything living”, “down with the reservoir ...”, “barbarian”, etc.

I think quite differently. Why? I'll tell you...

What is meant by the word poacher?

According to dictionaries and Wikipedia, this is someone who is engaged in poaching, that is, hunting or fishing in prohibited places, at a prohibited time or in a prohibited way, and also carries out illegal deforestation, picking berries, etc.

Create a legal face, follow the rules and catch.

So why if the network means - marriage (evil and mercilessly).

As for "cheating"...
